Telok Kurau Drainage Upgrading

In the face of heavier sudden downpours in a changing environment, the drainage system in the Telok Kurau neighborhood were enlarged to cater for higher volume of water to prevent floods. Open drains were replaced with covered drains of larger capacity which would have the added benefit of preventing mosquito breeding as well as create more green planting verges for residents.
The project was complex due to the tight constraints of narrow roads as well as the numerous services already running under the surface, which involved careful coordination with many agencies.
